The Key Lab covers with a first-level disciplines conferring doctoral of physics and 4 first-level physical disciplines conferring doctoral (Condensed Matter Physics, Theoretical Physics, Material Science of Physics and Chemistry, Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics) and a post-doctoral mobile stations of the first-level physical disciplines.

Our research activities always emphasize in the fields of low-dimensions magnetic materials and new type materials applied for information, energy, luminescence, and has formed two characteristic study projects on micro-electromagnetic properties of materials and high-frequency and soft-magnetism films. Currently, the research fields and activities includes the Physics and technology of magnetic recording, micro-electromagnetic properties of materials, multilayer films and magnetic electronics, the theory of magnetism and electronic structure calculations, new functional material and application, etc.
